Accomplishments

  • Received a commendation for a literature review on The Impact of Physical Activity on Cognition. I presented my research at Southmead Hospital’s Undergraduate Neuroscience Conference.
  • Conducted an audit at Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust in the Obstetric Department on Surgical Management of Postpartum Haemorrhage – this has been presented in the department and used as a reflection of how they are currently treating patients. I learned how to use Excel spreadsheets to collect and analyse data.
  • Attended and spoke at 2 British Medical Association conferences to inspire policy change in the NHS and UK medical education. I have been elected for the Agenda Committee to organise the 2025 conference. My confidence in public speaking has grown and I am proud to represent the BMA.
  • College of Medicine and Integrated Health Social Media & Communications Officer 2023 – 2024. I started up an Instagram page for the student faculty, which did not exist before. This encouraged over 50 people to attend the annual conference. I learned how to use Canva and drive engagement on social media.
  • Worked as an Open Day Steward and helped at Medicine Offer Holder days at my university in order to promote the course.
  • Editor and Contributor for The Black Bag, a magazine for Bristol medical students. This has developed my skills in writing.
