I was born in South Africa and moved to England in 2023. I first found the move hard because the way of living is very different. I found it challenging to start at a new school especially because I joined at the start of GCSE's but I am now more settled and have made lots of friends.
I am very sporty and love the outdoors, I have a dream to become a professional cricketer or at least play county cricket one day. I am a team player and take pride in competing in the First Team at club level. I completed my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh in 2024. Through the process of completing it, I learnt good communication and leadership skills mainly through my volunteering section where I helped coach young cricketers.
In July 2024, I completed online work experience with Airbus and Jaguar Land Rover. This gave me good insight into how major businesses are managed and run to be successful through things like advertising, location of stores and factories, and future ideas.
I am a creative person and enjoy designing and building projects. I have found that by taking Product Design for GCSE's and now currently for A-Level that is has helped improve my designing and building skills. For example, some of my projects include designing and building wooden mountain bike jumps, a dehydrating chamber, and a wooden counter extension for the kitchen.
I am helpful and reliable. I am always willing to help someone if they are in need. I recently helped a friend move house. This involved dismantling furniture, carrying heavy boxes and furniture, loading and packing the removal van. I enjoy completing handyman tasks around the house and in the garden. I have recently starting preparing and cooking a meal for my family on a weekly basis. It has been fun and rewarding to learn a new and useful skill.
I was awarded 2024 U20 player of the year and Player of the year for the Third team for my cricket club Bells Yew Green.
I completed my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award in 2024.
