Summary

I am highly motivated to apply for the role of Health Care Assistant within your

Organisation as I am a dedicated and compassionate support worker/Healthcare

Assistant with over two years experience providing exceptional support to individuals

with different needs. I’m good at delivering personalized care and fostering a positive

and inclusive environment and skilled in assisting with daily living activities and

emotional support. I have strong communication and interpersonal abilities, consistently

maintaining a positive attitude at work which helps to establish trusting relationships

with colleagues, clients and their families. I’m also well-versed in adapting to changing

situations, maintaining composure under pressure, and ensuring the highest standards

of care. A caring, polite, friendly, patient and empathetic support worker committed to

enhancing the quality of life for those in need. In addition, I view feedback as a valuable

opportunity for growth, actively reflecting on suggestions and taking prompt action to

improve my performance. I am also seeking a challenging new role that will advance my

career and support my long-term professional growth in healthcare.

My work experiences have also been vital in preparing me for this role. Most recently, I

have been a support worker at LEONARDCHESHIRE working with people with physical disabilities,

learning and developmental disorders and mental ill health. I have learnt to be dynamic

because of their unique evolving needs. I have also learnt to respond to medical

emergencies such as seizures and unresponsive people through CPR. Additionally, my

communication skills have developed greatly because I have had to learn to apply both

verbal and nonverbal communication skills to understand what they are trying to

communicate. More so, I am skilled in using tools and equipment to monitor and record

basic patient metrics, such as measuring height, weight, and blood pressure to support

residents health and wellbeing in line with care plans. As part of my role, I regularly

made and received phone calls concerning the health and wellbeing of residents,

working together with families, healthcare professionals and other multi-disciplinary

teams to ensure effective communication and continuity of care. I also routinely

monitored client conditions and immediately reported any changes to a senior staff

member and made sure to record this in their daily notes. All this prepared me to work

effectively under the supervision of registered nurses to contribute to patient care and

departmental organisation,

both older and young individuals. I learned to provide personal care and acquired

valuable practical skills like mobility assistance, hygiene support, progress monitoring

for people with chronic illnesses and on end of life, meal preparations, assisted with

feeding, and summary report preparation. This involved time management as the role

required me to travel/commute between various sites, good communication with the

clients, which I understand is of great essence in ensuring the patient understands

information given and cooperates as required. While in this role, I undertook training on

complex care and supported individuals with complex care needs. Training included,

Trachea care, Peg tube feeding, Epilepsy, Spinal cord injury, Bowel management and

Stoma Care.

To ensure that I continue to provide the highest standard of care in my current role, I

have undertaken a range of professional trainings which include, Promoting Dignity and

Person Centred Support, Oral Health, Food Safety Level 2, Dysphagia, End of Life Care

Awareness, Medication Awareness, Positive Behaviour Support, Fire Safety,

Safeguarding Children and Young People, Safeguarding Adults, Fire Prevention,

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, Slips, Trips and Falls, Continence Support,

Care Planning, Assisting and Moving People, Data Protection and GDPR, Health and

and Health, Infection Control, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Basic Life Support,

Reporting and Recording. Competencies Include,

Safeguarding Skills Assessment, Moving and Assisting, Infection Control and Assisting

with Meal Times

I am also deeply committed to professional development and continuously seek to

enhance my skills. I have also completed other Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses

at both Level 3 and 4 in health and social care that have given me a clear

understanding of Industry standards and best practices. I have also earned a Care

Certificate which shows that I successfully completed learning on the 15 sets of

standards that define the skills and knowledge required for roles in health and Social

care. I have also done basic phlebotomy training which has equipped me with the

knowledge of infection control and safe handling procedures for blood samples

including venepuncture and sample collection, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

More importantly, I am fully committed to the values of Care, Respect, Excellence,

Equity, Inclusiveness, Kindness and maintain effective communication with all members

of the team. I am also punctual, flexible, depending on the needs of the service and

reliable, ensuring my attendance is excellent since I have access to my own car and

can travel to any location for work. Accordingly, I have the experience of working in a

team and with other multi-disciplinary teams in general to ensure patient/clients’ health

and safety. My organisational skills have given me the ability to manage multiple taprioritize effectively and maintain attention to detail to ensure duties assigned are

completed accurately and on time. My professional development also demonstrates

flexibility with technology as I have experience in record-keeping and documentation in

healthcare settings through report writing and recording clients detailed daily notes. I

have also demonstrated this through report and presentation preparation and doing

Research projects, data collection, and analysis participation in my previous role with L

& S Scientific.

My goal is to continue growing within the care and support sector eventually building on my skills and

qualifications to take on more responsibilities in the future. With this in mind, I am very

much interested in further enhancing my skills which will enable me to carry out various

tasks reliably through competences and training. I am also open to any other

continuation of professional development provided by the Organisation that will enable

me to give the best care and support necessary for patients.

I am looking forward to an opportunity to be part of your team and help in the

improvement of patient experience, nurturing myself professionally in a supportive and

vibrant environment in the support and care sector.
