I have worked for tears of Sutton bridge for just over a year now originally coming from a body shop background, I originally started this job not having the most experience in any sort of servicing or technical side of the motor trade but I would now describe myself as quite confident and willing to have ago at whatever task is given to me, in this job I also get a lot of jobs that need welding that have failed mot of corrosion to either chassis mounting points, sills or even chassis themselves, this has only ever been mig welding but I have always wanted to learn how to tig weld.
I started this job when I left school at the age of 16, this was an apprenticeship I undertook for 3 years which covered all areas in a Bodyshop from strip-refit, panel and paint, in this time I completed exams that were required to continue my apprenticeship like hybrid and electric vehicle handling, level 3 welding completed with stanners, AC handling, during this time I did a lot of welding in new panels like sill repairs and new quarter panels for cars or vans, these were also completed to a high standard as I used to treat every job as if it was my own vehicle being repaired and how I would want it.
