Summary

I am very passionate about music and feel that my life has been focused around it. I have spent the past decade mastering my skills as a guitarist, and the last five years performing live and teaching myself how to compose, produce and mix music to a professional level.


The past two years at the Rhythm Studio have helped me to develop team skills and have been useful in providing insights in to business and hands-on experience with live recording set-ups.


Outside of college my life revolves around learning new skills and honing my abilities as a modern musician.

I am confident in my abilities and believe that my sideline freelance work in the industry over recent months has helped me to gain valuable experience.


Having completed my college course, I am now excited to begin a career in music and explore my potential while learning and gaining valuable experience.

Through a music industry freelancing platform, I have worked for numerous clients across a variety of projects ranging from guitar tracking to complete composition, production and recording for albums.


In some cases, I have been provided with very minimalistic demos that I have had to build up myself and write sections of music to accommodate it including guitars, bass and orchestral elements. Other times I've worked with artists on a larger projects where a lot of the music has already been written out and they have come to me looking for professional quality recording and advice covering structure, mixing and composing.


My most recent project involved working with an international client to create a prog-metal album. I recorded and produced the entire album and contributed full composition to fifty percent, from a loose brief provided by the client. The project took four months and hundreds of hours to complete, needing to meet a tight deadline.


All of my freelance clients have been extremely happy with the work I provided for them as evidenced by their very positive reviews and testimonials, a few examples of which are below.

Skills

Leadership - I consider myself to be a very good team and collaborative worker, I am very keen to learn from others and gain experience Throughout college I have had lots of experience taking lead on most work projects Due to this I have become very comfortable at leading groups and taking responsibility


Software - I mainly use Ableton and work at an expert level in this software However, I am also proficient with Logic and Pro Tools to a slightly lesser degree


I am also proficient in using Guitar Pro 8 and have been using it extensively for the last 3 years


I also am moderately capable in video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro and in business communications using the suite of MS Office tools


Sound Design - I have a lot of experience using virtual synthesisers and sequencers in many of my projects, this covers Serum, Vital and more

I would say that my skills in sound design are at an upper intermediate level


Guitar - I can definitely say that my skill level on guitar is very high I have been playing guitar for over a decade and have covered nearly every genre and playing style in this time with the most recent being metal I am signed to the company MusicMan by ErnieBall under an artist deal and have been for a few years now I have taken one to one lessons and masterclasses with numerous professional guitarists such as Jason Richardson, John Petrucci, Tim Henson and Guthrie Govan I am proficient in using 6, 7 and 8 stringed guitars as well as 4 and 5 stringed basses recently I have played live gigs in front of people such as Will Champion from Cold Play I have also been using my skills to write very guitar focused original music for the last few years and run numerous social media pages


Sound Engineering - Through different activities and college and personal projects I've had plenty of experience working to set up microphones and recordings for live drum takes, guitars, bass and vocals


Composition - I have a very good grounding in music theory and a very good ear for writing and composing I have used this in the past to compose entire orchestrations and other intricate guitar based pieces Albeit music is subjective, I like to consider myself a creative person and feel that that translates well into my music
