With a teaching career of over 17 years, I have been very fortunate to have held many roles, including being Head of Geography, where I have overseen a change in the curriculum, and have worked closely with the rest of the team to take the department forward. I have been a Form Teacher to the Year 4s, 5s and 6s and have taught, English, Maths, Geography, History and RS to a variety of ages.
Geography is a real passion of mine and I have loved teaching children from all over the world. I want the children to leave the class, wanting to find out more and to take a real interest in the world around them. Geography is such a key subject especially today and I want the children to have a better understanding and real love for the subject.
I have also coached all of the main team sports across the ages too. I have also had the privilege to run the schools charity work over a number of years, and I have made a real effort to make sure that the children are involved as much as possible, including introducing a charity committee. I have also worked and learnt from some amazing colleagues along the way and I feel that I have also helped the newer staff in turn to settle in.
