Volunteer child minder helping care for children between the ages of 6 months to 4 years and after school provision for primary school age children.
Maintaining clean and safe play environments, ensuring child safety and wellbeing. Ensure safety on outings and journeys by close supervision and awareness of hazards.
Following planned routines and schedules agreed with parents but also flexibility to adapt to the changes that occur when working with children. Reliable and prompt time keeping.
Safeguarding awareness.
Extensive experience with a range of family pets including a role volunteering, as a family, for a charity that breed and train assistance dogs for people with physical disabilities. Mabel is a Golden Retriever brood and has had two litters of puppies that have gone on to be assistance dogs. Animals include rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, cats, dog, and chickens.
Owned a pony when younger.
Administering medication and keeping good hygiene standards.
Hatching and rearing chicks.
Livestock experience gained on friend's farms and whilst on holiday on a working farm. Summer shepherding school where experience included rounding up sheep, then sorting, weighing, tagging, worming, trimming feet and health checks.
Attended the goat keeping course at Chatsworth Farmyard recently and Young Farmers Day.
Self directed learning about animal husbandry.
Supervised numerous children of varying ages, consistently promoting safe, developmentally appropriate childcare practices.
