- Since commencing as a TE/LSA at Feering Primary school my duties have included working in Early Years as a 1:1 to a child with safeguarding and behavioural difficulties, until they left the school.
I then migrated towards Years 4/5 and Year 5/6 assisting children in the learning of the whole of the curriculum and led smaller intervention groups on core subjects. The groups include those with EHCP and one plans together those reaching greater depth.
Also listen to regular readers and provide extra help with handwriting interventions.
I work preparing Year 6 for their SATS by way of intervention learning.
More recently I have worked with Year 2/3 assisting the HLTA , occasionally teaching the class whilst the teaching staff deal with matters of safeguarding or behaviour away from the classroom. I also dismiss classes at the end of the day.
One of my duties is to assist the HLTA, one day a week, when taking a class allowing the Deputy Head Teacher to fulfil their duties. I am tasked to tend to the needs of a Year 6 who is Autistic to ensure that both they and the class receive the best learning experience in a safe and nurturing environment
I ensure that the equipment/text required by the teacher is in place each day. The last 2 years I have produced the stage sets for the end of Year 6 Shows.
