The principal purpose of the job is to support the development of the Trauma Resilience Hub. This is achieved through undertaking the
following areas of responsibility:
1. leading on the clinical elements in the development of the Trauma Resilience Hub.
2. working collaboratively with specialist sexual violence providers and people with lived experience to co-design and develop
systematic, trauma-informed provision of high quality “trauma processing” interventions across Devon and Cornwall and clear pathways
into them.
3.working collaboratively with colleagues and people with lived experience to create a learning environment which identifies gaps in
service provision, and supports the development and delivery of creative, effective offers to fill these gaps.
4. As a member of the Trauma Resilience Hub, providing clinical leadership and supervision, advice and consultancy to professionals in
how to support victims/survivors of sexual violence and abuse with complex, trauma related mental health needs, contributing to an
environment characterised by safety (physical and psychological), trust, empowerment, control, choice and cultural consideration for all.
5.Advocating for people and navigate for professionals the right pathways within the three Mental Health Trusts and other allied
organisations in the wider system.
6. also carry a small specialist caseload of clients with complex, trauma-related mental health needs who are referred via the Trauma
Resilience Hub.
7. Co-develop trauma-informed and shame-sensitive protocols and procedures in support of the Hub’s aims, including information
sharing protocols, clinical interfaces and guidelines.
8. Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice
within professional and Trust guidelines as lead specialist.
To provide highly specialised and systematic Psychology Service to adults with severe and enduring mental health problems, using
judgment across a range of options in complex situations.
2. To contribute to the delivery of Psychological Therapies, with a particular focus on CBT and Systemic Therapy and an explorative and
empowerment model based group programme for women who have experienced childhood sexual traumas..
3. To promote the use of effective, evidence-based interventions in the Service.
4. To provide consultancy and support on the psychological aspects of care to other professionals as required.
5. To work across agencies in planning and organising care strategies, training and overseeing service-user interventions; to contribute
to care plans
6. To offer training in psychological approaches to healthcare and other staff in the multidisciplinary teams and to staff from other parts
of the service.
7. To provide experience and supervision to D. Clin. Psychology trainees in conjunction with the Principal Clinical Psychologists. .
8.To supervise assistant psychologists and volunteers.

To undertake a structured programme of learning including personal study, academic work, research, placement learning and
assessment leading to the award of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
- To work as part of a multi‐disciplinary community team or in specialized clinical settings involving largely
uni‐professional practice and experience of a broad range of clinical and organizational settings.
- To carry out complex psychological assessments sensitively and independently with a broad range of client groups including individual
psychometric testing sessions.
- To formulate the nature, causes and maintaining factors of highly distressing psychological difficulties and presentations informed by a
broad range of potentially conflicting clinical, theoretical and conceptual models, the empirical, experimental and clinical literature base
and the results of assessment.
- To communicate such formulations professionally, sensitively and diplomatically frequently in an emotive atmosphere to clients,
relatives, carers and other healthcare professionals relevant to the case.
- To plan and implement bespoke, formulation‐driven psychological interventions, or pro-grammes empathically, sensitively and
independently, with a broad range of client groups, carers (including relatives), families, groups of clients, etc. and evaluates the impact
of such intervention.
- To plan and deliver group sessions for clients or their carers.
- To provide advice and support for carers and other professionals.
- .To network and consult with relevant external agencies such as social services, independent and voluntary sector, to facilitate and
enable intervention at multiple levels.
- To plan and provide formal and informal training to other psychologists, other professionals, and carers, including the presentation of
complex and sometimes contentious psychological and re-search material.
- To carry out formal and informal research and development activities designed to inform service development are a major feature of
the work, culminating in the award of a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Disseminates research findings from own Doctorate, including
journal publication and conference presentation.
- To attend activity such as weekly clinical supervision, shadowing, joint working, personal study and reflection. Work is managed and
goals agreed and reviewed at intervals; works independently on a day to day basis.
- To attend formal teaching and training sessions provided by the University and complete assessment and evaluation procedures as
required by the University programme.
Had shifts in mainly two organisations,first working with adult with moderate to severe learning difficulties who were in supportive
housing and secondly working with older adults with mental health difficulties living in residential homes. In the first job it involved
helping the adult with learning dfficulties with their daily living needs, supporting in their activities and generally being encouraging and
facilitaing the residents to maintain an independant life wih dignity. it also involved maintaining clinical records and communicating
relevant information to relevant agencies involved in the residents' care.
The second job involved looking after the daily living functioning of older adults and to provide sup-port to service users ensuring they
develop and maintain their daily hygiene, dietary and self-help skills.It also included maintaining clinical records and monitoring their
mental health as identified by qualified staff.
Conducted individual therapeutic sessions with male patients with severe and enduring mental health problemsunder the supervision of
Clinical Psychologists and co-facilitated group work focused on modifying offending behaviour.
Conducted semi-structured interviews, administered, scored and interpreting psychometric tests/questionnaires
Used risk assessment tools and facilitated meetings about risk, generated risk assessment reports
Attended regular supervision
To implement, monitor and record relevant data regarding the use of any behavioural programmes and provide feedback to other
members of the MDT.
Contribute to the negotiation of behavioural contracts with the patients, or in consultation with the key nurse, as appropriate.
Write and present progress reports at formal review meetings.
Undertake research projects, including data collection, investigations, report preparation and presentation as appropriate.
To provide support to service users ensuring they develop and maintain their daily hygiene, dietary and self-help skills.
As a Support Worker I wasto act as a positive role model residents, encouraging them in their daily activities, educational and
behavioural support programmes, and their recreational activities. It was required of me to help each individual look for the positives in
themselves as they make the journey along their pathway of care towards greater independence and a better quality of life.
