  • I started working in this Trust and got to learn how the NHS system and the local guidelines work together efficiently. I learnt that patients pertaining to different diseases are seen on different days in the outpatient department.
  • I shadowed and helped the on-call consultants, registrar and clinical fellows in the wards, PAU, NICU or outpatient clinics according to the rota set by my clinical supervisor.
  • I attended ward rounds with the consultants and the registrars, where I saw a wide variety of cases, some common like Anorexia nervosa, febrile seizures, bronchiolitis, sepsis and rare ones like NMDA receptor antibody associated encephalitis, genetic encephalitis, CKD, glaucoma and Kawasaki disease.
  • Shadowed and assisted the SHOs in the completion of their daily tasks like documentation and procedures(collecting blood, cannulation, blood gases) post ward rounds.
  • I also attended teaching sessions held regularly conducted by registrars or consultants, attended by the paediatric team where I learnt and discussed interesting paediatric cases.
