

I am a highly motivated and compassionate about working within the Childcare Sector, with a strong passion for supporting children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I am a single parent with a seven year old daughter and this experience has guided me to follow a childcare career. I have loved bring my child up and so proud of her. This has led me to involvement with other children and groups where I have discovered that I have many skills in the area of working with children and young people. Bringing two years of college education in childcare and education, alongside valuable practical experience gained through placements in both nursery and primary school settings. During my placement as a Student Learning Assistant at St Athanasius Primary School, I supported teachers in creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for pupils. My responsibilities included preparing classroom materials, organising learning resources, and assisting with classroom activities and projects to support pupil development and engagement. I independently prepared and took part in activities with the full class, helping to deliver enjoyable and interactive learning experiences that encouraged participation and teamwork. I also accompanied pupils on educational trips, ensuring their safety and providing support throughout the day. In addition, I contributed to the planning and organisation of extracurricular activities, helping children build confidence, social skills, and talents outside of the classroom.
