As a class teacher in a pupil referral school I taught a mixed KS2 class of 6 primary children with significant behaviour and SEN needs.
The role was extremely wide ranging and challenging but also enjoyable and rewarding. Sadly, due to family circumstances I had to leave the role two terms into the job.
This employment consisted of two years as a teaching assistant and then one year as a School Direct student with a maths specialism.
I left the school due to there not being any vacancies at the end of my training year.

I completed my School Direct training with a mathematics specialism and have been Maths Lead for the past seven years In this role, I have successfully implemented and adapted the White Rose Maths scheme, led staff training, organised local maths cluster groups and participated in Local Authority maths working groups I have also worked alongside the Maths Observatory at Nottingham University as part of a long-term study tracking pupils' mathematical development Through regular monitoring, staff collaboration and adaptive teaching strategies, I have supported the continued improvement of maths provision across the school, contributing to consistently above-national-average outcomes at both KS1 and KS2 I am particularly passionate about ensuring maths is engaging, accessible and meaningful for all learners, including pupils with SEND and those requiring additional intervention
