  • My well-being is tied into reading and my creative hobbies - sewing, quilting, fused glass making, mosaics and crochet. I love to create and it helps me unwind and switch off from work. I like to share my skills with the children at school and have helped run a crochet club as well as encouraging children to take up various creative skills.
  • I read voraciously, reading around 100 books a year, many of them children's books as I love being able to share and recommend books to my classes. I have a personal library in my classroom (around 200 books) which children are able to borrow.
  • I love the outdoors and spend a lot of time gardening. We are relocating to Kent in the summer and I am looking forward to the challenge of a new garden. For exercise, I like to walk and swim and have recently started playing squash. I love being outdoors and look forward to being near to the sea and able to extend my walking endeavours to exploring the local coastal paths.
  • I can play the piano (although a little rusty) and have just taken up the banjo as my latest challenge. I'm not sure if this will help my wellbeing particularly but it is something I have wanted to do for a long time.
  • e! I also love all types of puzzles from Wordle to jigsaws and number and logic problems and enjoy bringing these into my classroom and challenging the children.
