Where can I even begin, Almost 2 years ago I started in the Emergency Department having never worked in a hospital setting to now having almost completed my ED competency pack and having hands on experience learning from fellow support workers, students, nurses, doctors and consultants. I am going to list some things that are just some of things included in my day working in ED.

*Always introducing myself to patients so they feel comfortable and feel they can ask questions or concerns I may be able to help with

* Learning about different specialities and illnesses for example mental health, diabetes, COPD and how do my part to keep these patients safe.

* Being a team player and always willing to sharing my knowledge with others for example sharing knowledge with new support working joining the team and student nurses to boost there learning and my own.

*Identifying priority patients from physiological measurements and ACPVU and being able to take the proper measures for guaranteed patient safety and positive health outcomes.

* Being a kind and friendly face for all patients and staff.

Identical school of dance is a dance school for children and young adults with additional needs, including Down’s syndrome, autism, wheel chair bound, sight or hearing impaired. This not only is a job it’s a passion being able to support children and families do what they never thought would be possible. Working with the children and young adults it has other rewarding factors being able to understand vulnerable adult safeguarding and following strict measures to keep all safe. For example understanding the use of police or support worker passwords and being aware of surroundings at all times. Another things I have learnt is to keep family and carers aware of progress and keeping them informed throughout their journey and collaborating to find child’s strengths and improvements. I am proud of all core values and achievements I have gained throughout my time working with Identical for example 3 shows preformed at the New Theater Royal and being in the paper many times huge achievements making children very happy.
