• Reviewed 5751 literatures in various fields over the last 100 years through bibliometrics, and analyzed the significance of circular economy in these literatures
• Analyzed the importance of circular economy literature for tourism sector and to classify all studies carried out on these two topics according to the commonalities of their research content
• Developed the required knowledge models, pointed out new areas of knowledge that need to be explored, and made suggestions for future research directions
• Evaluated the contribution of this literature review to related fields and its limitations
