Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure continuation of clinical biochemistry service through participation in 24/7 Core Biochemistry rota.
• Technically validate specimen results and communicate time critical results to the appropriate person.
• Operate, troubleshoot and maintain clinical biochemistry analysers and post analytical equipment.
• Complete CPD opportunities to improve and update knowledge.
• Review, Investigate and evaluate IQC.
• Review EQA reports and action any issues appropriately.
• Assist in the training and provide mentorship to Junior staff members.
• Stand in for section leads when unavailable.
• Assist in the verification and evaluation of new equipment, assays and QC material, including Roche ISE Neo and p703 analysers.

• Develop knowledge and complete training within the Core Biochemistry section.
• Achieve HCPC registration by completing IBMS Registration Portfolio and passing verification.

Role and Responsibilities

• Booking in specimens to the laboratory systems promptly for analysis.
• Communicating results, handling queries and complaints from both on site and primary care staff.
• Supporting the Blood Sciences department as part of a 24/7 rota.
• Troubleshooting & maintenance of pre-analytical equipment (Roche MPA).
