Currently work in a Year 1 and 2 class, teaching and supporting 30 children. I work with a teaching assistant who supports and delegates roles to as well as 2 1:1 teaching assistants who support children with SEN. I thoroughly enjoy my role and always work to the highest professional standard. I build strong and positive relationships with the children and their families and I am committed to ensuring the children learn, feel safe and thrive in my care. In my role as a teacher I plan, deliver and assess the children across all subjects using the National Curriculum. I also work with my Key Stage team supporting with planning and interventions. To support the whole school I lead Science. Within this role I support teachers with their planning, task design, adaptations as well as being responsible for enrichment and assessment. I am also the school's NEU rep and regularly attend meetings with the representatives of schools across the city.
I love children learning through play and I enjoy leading and participating in activities with the children. My practice is inclusive and I ensure that I can meet the needs of all children that I work with.
I am fully trained in safeguarding and always maintain professional curiosity to ensure children are safe and are not being harmed. Any concerns I have I always share with my DSL and follow up to ensure my concerns have been dealt with.
I am able to manage the needs of children including their behaviour, offering timers, countdowns, warnings and distractions before behaviour escalates and I will always follow the behaviour policy to deal with challenging behaviour.
