I am an adaptable and committed teacher with four years of experience, including three years in Birmingham and one year teaching in a SPiMS setting in Northern Ireland. Working across diverse school communities has strengthened my passion for inclusive education and deepened my understanding of the varied needs pupils bring to the classroom. I have a particular interest in supporting learners with SEN and enjoy helping them thrive in any setting. My Level 4 counselling qualification gives me valuable insight into pupil wellbeing and enhances my ability to respond sensitively to emotional and behavioural needs.
I have a strong ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, and I have been recognised for my enthusiastic attitude and the energy I bring to my work. I approach every aspect of teaching with empathy, resilience, and a commitment to helping every child feel valued and capable.
In my role as a SPiMS class teacher, I provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs while ensuring full inclusion within the mainstream school environment. I plan and deliver differentiated lessons aligned with the Northern Ireland Curriculum, using Assessment for Learning strategies to track progress, identify barriers, and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
I work closely with pupils with SEN, implementing personalised interventions, collaborating with classroom assistants, and liaising with external agencies to ensure consistent, high‑quality support. I create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive classroom where pupils feel safe, respected, and confident in their abilities. Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues is central to my practice, helping to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement in learning.
I am committed to reflective practice, ongoing professional development, and contributing to whole‑school initiatives that support inclusion and pupil success.
