Head of Commercial Projects & Technical Programme Manager on Essex County Councils Commercial Core Estate for Capital Maintenance and project delivery, during the role I have developed and reshaped the processes already set out between Mitie and Essex County Council, evolving new and more efficient ways of delivering projects on time and in budget whilst managing and improving their day to day operational procedures.

Managing and successfully delivering over £30Million in Capital Projects, ranging from Minor works and insurance up to Major Projects.

I have successfully led a team of over 20 Personnel, comprising of Project Managers, Minor works Managers, Insurance Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Admin Staff in the delivery of Commercial works for ECC.

• Appointed Principal Designer to assemble pre-construction information, enabling tender issue design packs.
• Quantifying works, drawings take off and building surveying.

I began working for Mitie as a Technical Project Manager alongside Essex County Council in June 2022

During my time at Mitie i have picked up a number on new skills, in particular managing projects on a larger scale from schools to Library’s, working alongside a great team and understanding how the money gets put back into the community.

My experience coming from a mechanical & electrical background and having been on the tools myself for many years has really helped me progress in this position.

• Conducted critical pre-installation conferences with contractors, subcontractors and key stakeholders, negotiating best-possible project progression.
• Reviewed plans and specifications during schematic design of pre-construction to identify potential risks and constraints
• Devised tactical programmes of work to meet requirements.

Overseeing the day to day activities of 10+ electrical engineers from start to finish of projects ranging from £100 all the up to £500,000

During this role I would also be overseeing Labour allocation, Procurement, Invoicing and meeting potential new clients.

• Improved the delivery of domestic & commercial projects by influencing and motivating increased production levels in day to day activities.
• Built positive, productive relationships with clients, sub-contractors on potential new and on going jobs
• Instructed manufacturing orders on a procurement basis to meet costs and schedule demands.
• Negotiated and finalised existing and potential new contracts.
• Projected procurement requirements to order exact stock for project needs.

Within this role I successfully gained the knowledge and experience on how to lead a time of 15+ electrical engineers under my direct supervision to successfully deliver a £1.2million job on time during the COVID19 period.

During my time as a hands on senior Electrician I would be working in a good variety of properties from high-end buildings in London to occupied Schools and Hospitals throughout the North east all while installing to an extremely good standard.

• Trained and mentored apprentice electricians, providing diligent monitoring to ensure safe, quality workmanship.
• Inspected electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and repair requirements.
• Performed timely electrical system installation of conduit, wire, power distribution and motor controls.
• Interpreted drawings, wiring diagrams, flow charts and written descriptions to deliver to project requirements.
• Read and interpreted electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications for wiring layouts.
• Maintained clean, safe working environments, minimising risk to staff and visitors.
• Ensured safety of electrical work and systems through regular, rigorous testing.
• Correctly filled appropriate Electrical Certificates and Electrical Condition Reports for optimal project compliance.

I began working with Bowling Garrard Electrical from the day I left school, During my time here I learnt some amazing life skills alongside studying and undergoing my 4 year working apprenticeship at Colchester Institute.

• Shadowed qualified Electricians to gain a thorough understanding of electrical installation, repair and maintenance tasks, supporting team members to maintain high-quality workmanship.
• Reviewed wiring and circuit diagrams to effectively determine sequences and methods of operation, Repaired existing systems and replaced malfunctioning parts.
• Maintained clean, neat and organised work areas.
