Play worker (assistant Behavioural Management Lead):

  • My current position is as a playworker for KS2 level children. I'm responsible for organising activities for child-led play, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment- working with SEND and CIP children.
  • I also help to curate behavioural management plans for our SEND and CIP children, working with an external agencies- a behavioural management specialist, parents and schools- to ensure that they match both the child’s needs and Ofsted’s requirements.

1:1 Keyworker/ Mentor

  • Alongside this I work as a 1:1 Keyworker/ Mentor for KS2 and KS3 children at risk of being excluded from school or already experiencing exclusion or school avoidance. We aim to develop these children's socio-emotional skills and interests whilst supporting them with their experiences of trauma and complex emotions.

I spent a year and a half travelling and working in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. Roles in this time included:

  • Working in a Japanese art village, where I assisted with day to day running and assisted behind the scenes of the bimonthly Forest Jam's, events highlighting interesting Japanese music.
  • Assistant managing in a busy Japanese ski lodge over a winter season. This involved coordinating staff, looking after guest experience, managing all admin and finance tasks for the lodge and helping to run the lodges social media.
  • Working as a guide for canyoning, kayaking and white water rafting tours.
  • Helping set up an exhibition of oral histories from the local community, in the Taiwanese city of Keelung.
