I am a Warm, dedicated and confident SEND and pastoral professional with a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience, and extensive experience supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within mainstream education. I take an active, solution-focused approach to inclusion, wellbeing and student development, with a strong commitment to creating environments where young people feel safe, understood and able to thrive.
I have a particular interest in neurodiversity, student voice and inclusive school culture, and I am passionate about empowering young people to understand and advocate for themselves with confidence. I combine professional knowledge with lived experience of neurodiversity, which strengthens my ability to build trusting relationships and respond creatively to individual barriers to learning.
In my current role as a 1:1 Keyworker and Learning Support Assistant, I manage a caseload of vulnerable students, deliver targeted interventions, and work closely with families, teaching staff and external agencies to coordinate effective support. Alongside this, I regularly contribute to wider inclusion and pastoral initiatives, supporting improvements in practice, resources and school culture. I am especially motivated by work that helps improve school culture, promotes equality, and gives students a real voice in shaping their environment.
I am actively engaged in education and equality-focused work beyond my role, including membership of the National Education Union (NEU), where I take an active interest in issues affecting staff and students within education settings. I have also recently stepped into an NEU LGBT+ District Officer role, reflecting my commitment to equity, representation and inclusive practice in schools.
Alongside this, I regularly attend LGBTQ+ wellbeing, Pride and community-based events, with a focus on safe spaces, inclusion and advocacy. These experiences further inform my passion for student voice, belonging and creating supportive environments within education. In my personal time, I enjoy a wide range of creative pursuits including poetry writing, graphic design, printmaking, embroidery and visual arts. I also enjoy singing, playing musical instruments and exploring innovative ways to engage and support young people through creative activities.
