I have trained for for the last eleven years as an elite swimmer which has taken up the vast majority of any free time I have had aside from school. It is for this reason that I have therefore had no other work experience either paid or voluntary. Whilst this is less than ideal, I do believe that my commitment to swimming has given me qualities and skills that are valuable. I have excellent time management, an ability to focus on the task at hand and a determination to succeed in whatever I am asked to do. I have shown a level of dedication which I would then bring to role of lifeguard. My swimming training also means that I am highly proficient in the pool and am able to spot and react to water based issues with great speed. I am used to working in a team and bring a calm energy to any group.
As a result of my training I believe I will be able to...
Currently I compete nationally in swimming and was British Junior champion in 400m, 800m and 1500m freestyle last year. I have participated in British Olympic trials as well as travelled overseas to compete with British swimming. I was chosen by British swimming to be part of the DiSE program (Loughborough College) as well as the GB Distance Initiative.
