I have four years of experience in livestock management independently although I have collaborated with vets and my employer on occasions for emergency reasons and market days in which I handle and count profit of our sales. Furthermore my seven months of private landscaping experience independently solving issues my clients garden has such as over grown bushes of misplaced plants effecting cohesion of the chosen aesthetic I am asked to create.
I am in involved in many tasks within my role as a shepherd providing me with many skills and attributes from my experiences. Maintenance of transport such as trailers, which includes cleaning and tyre change demonstrating my physical and cognitive ability. General support of livestock, involving feeding routines, daily head count, identification of injury or illness, use of medication on livestock such as wormer and anaesthetic which also involves flipping sheep and handling rams for cutting overgrown horns, construction of structures such as electric fences and hoarse shelters and lambing. The other side of the job is marketing I sell and promote the wool from the sheep at local markets with my employer handling payments and stock of the stand.
This job involves the basic objectives of gardening such as lawn mowing but I also perform tasks involving more complex tools and tasks such bush shaping/removal, pond maintenance including removal of algae and fish care.
