In my job role as a HWRC and Plant Operative, I played a critical role in supporting the efficient operation and maintenance of recycling, and waste management systems. The primary responsibility is to safely operate plant machinery (excavator) for compacting waste containers prior to transport, and to adhere to environmental regulations and safety regulations.

Responsibilities summarised as follows:

Operated plant equipment, including diggers, to move, sort, and recycle materials efficiently.
Conducted regular equipment checks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
Reported faults and issues immediately to supervisor for prompt resolution.
Compiled detailed reports for record-keeping and operational transparency.

Comply with all safety procedures and guidelines to minimise risk and safeguard colleagues and members of the public

Utilise appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently, ensuring compliance with safety protocols in workplace.

Ensured environmentally responsible facility operations, adhering to local and national regulations.
Promoted recycling by properly sorting recyclable materials.
