The world renowned hairdressing academy, Sassoon's, has been an uplifting, captivating and inspiring experience. I have learnt the skill of styling, cutting and colouring along with barbering. Throughout my experience I have studied the history, the theory and the practical side of hairdressing and I have been doing clients on a daily basis in a salon like environment. This has made me feel very confident and ready to work on the salon floor due to regularly doing in-depth consultations and studying the Wella and Sassoon colour brands. The course will afford me an NVQ Level 3 as well as a Sassoon Diploma Qualification.

I became a creative assistant to some of the worlds leading hairdressers including Josh Wood and Pete Burkill. At Josh Wood Colour Salon in Holland Park I received in house practical hairdressing training along with barista training. I became personal assistant to a top hair extension specialist and learnt invaluable lessons in customer service to a famous celebrity clientele. My experience at Josh Wood taught me the importance of maintaining a high standard of salon presentability and etiquette to all clientele and colleagues at all time.

Working a Saturday job at a local salon to my house really helped to confirm my dream to be a hair colourist. During my time at this salon, I assisted an ex Vidal Sasson stylist and I learnt very valuable salon skills including booking appointments, general salon housekeeping, washing and toning clients and patch testing and recording relevant data.

I became a member of the Forward Drive coaching staff, teaching 4–18 year olds different cricketing skills. This helped me to develop strong verbal communication skills, self confidence and leadership skills. I greatly enjoyed my time teaching and would love to get the opportunity to share my hairdressing skills in the future.
