Over the years, I’ve worked independently in Blood Sciences as an Associate Practitioner, gaining experience across a variety of laboratory sections. I’ve worked in Haematology, Coagulation, Blood Transfusion, and in Biochemistry, where I’ve been trained in Immunology, Quality, Newborn Screening, Special Biochemistry, and Automated Biochemistry. I’m now completing a Biomedical Science Apprenticeship, combining hands-on lab work with academic study, as I take the next step in my career.
My current role provides a broad range of training and knowledge across Biochemistry, Immunology, Newborn Screening, and Quality. I rotate through multiple sections, gaining both manual and automated scientific skills while consistently following PPE, health & safety, and regulatory standards.
While working in Biochemistry, I began a Biomedical Science Apprenticeship at the University of Portsmouth, combining hands-on laboratory experience with academic study. The apprenticeship will lead to a Biomedical Science degree, a completed IBMS portfolio, and eligibility for HCPC registration.
