- Ensure safe handling, processing, and disposal of biological and high-risk specimens in compliance with COSHH, health and safety, and waste management regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation using POCT middleware and laboratory IT systems (e.g. Swisslab, Aegis, EQA portals), ensuring data accuracy and traceability.
- Support audits, competency assessments, and quality improvement activities to maintain UKAS compliance and service standards.
- Provide technical advice and hands-on support to nursing and clinical staff, responding to POCT queries and promoting correct device usage.
- Manage workload independently across multiple POCT locations, prioritising tasks to meet clinical demand and service deadlines.
- Monitor and replenish stock levels of reagents, consumables, and testing kits to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Contribute to updating SOPs, training materials, and service improvement initiatives within the POCT service.
- Work collaboratively with Biomedical Scientists, POCT practitioners, clinicians, ward teams, and multidisciplinary staff across Trust sites.
