Trauma and Orthopaedics:

Worked as an SHO in T&O. Job responsibilities

include ward cover, doing ward rounds and

informing consultants about patient progress

before and after surgery.

On calls both in and out of hours. Managing

patients on wards and covering AE and

supporting them with referrals to T&O.

Emergency medicine:

SHO in Emergency medicine. Reviewing

patients who presents to AE. Making treatment

and investigations plans for them and treating

them where necessary with appropriate senior

support.

Updating consultants and about the patients

reviewed by me to make sure patients are

discharged appropriately. Supporting Resus in

managing acutely unwell patients.

General Practice:

Fy2 role in General practice. Managing and

treating patients who presents to practice with

different complaints and symptoms.

August 2022 to August 2023 (1 year)

Obs and Gynae:

FY1 role in ObGyn. Managing post-operative

gynaecology patients on wards, helping out

with C-sections on labour wards and scrubbing

in for theatre sessions with consultants and

registrars.

Respiratory Medicine:

FY1 doctor on an HDU ward. Helping out with

ward rounds and managing unwell patients with

appropriate senior support. As part of role also

managed patients in CCU and CDU.

General Surgery:

FY1 doctor covering 4 Surgical wards. Jobs

included ward rounds, managing acutely

deteriorating patients, and on-calls with crash

bleep.
