Specimen reception and processing: Received, identified and logged pathology samples, ensuring accurate labelling and entry into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Resolved issues such as incorrectly labelled or incomplete specimens.
Sample preparation & Pre-analytical work: Assisted in specimen dissection, printed cassettes, and processed samples through automated tissue processors, maintaining strict adherence to Health and Safety and Standard Operating Procedures.
Quality & Accuracy: Performed quality checks on stained slides and identified non-conformances, demonstrating strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
Equipment maintenance: Performed routine cleaning, decontamination, and functional checks on laboratory equipment (microtomes, processors, stainers) and reported faults as necessary.
