My engineering apprenticeship provided hands-on training in all areas of engineering including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. The skills gained during the apprenticeship led to being employed as a domestic appliance engineer which involved diagnosing and repairing faults in various white goods, from washing machines to fridges. I then transitioned to Chubb Fire and Security, supporting intruder alarms, access control and CCTV initially but later transferred into the fire safety team. Responsibilities included scheduled testing, ensuring compliance with BS5839 standards and periodic testing of emergency lighting. I gained excellent customer service skills, with many commendations in the post visit reviews. These customers included schools, care homes and, in some cases, hotels reporting to the site maintenance staff .
I have recently been working for a local gardener on a casual basis which has provided me a basic knowledge of gardening maintenance and experience in the use of the power tools required.
I achieved a black belt in karate after many years of dedicated training .
