Summary

I have been working in the repair and maintenance of commercial vehicles industry for 25 years. Starting as an apprentice at a local coach company, which was bought by a larger company. I was then promoted to the depot maintenance manager, during this time the company expanded it's fleet rapidly, from approximately 8 to 22 vehicles. I was responsible for managing all aspects of vehicle maintenance and the associated workshop facilities, including 2 technicians working under my supervision.

  • I have since moved from the PCV to LGV industry. My current employer is MAN Truck & Bus UK, so the focus of my activities are MAN vehicles, however, the company also maintains a number of different marques for its customers, including Mercedes, Volvo, Scania, DAF, and Iveco.
  • I am skilled at diagnosing vehicle faults, be it electrical or mechanical. I have been a stand in supervisor for the last 9 years, which involves covering for the shift supervisor in their absence, duties include allocating work to other technicians, ensuring that repairs are carried out properly and in a timely manner. Ensuring that health and safety regulations are observed. Communicating with the workshop manager/customer services/directly with the customer as required.
  • Give technical advice and assistance to less experienced technicians.
  • I have excellent time keeping skills and a low sickness record.
  • I am willing to learn new skills.
  • I have entitlement to drive all PCV and LGV vehicles.
  • I have excellent skills of observation and attention to detail.
