I was raised on a small island off Shetland (Whalsay), and have been around animals all my life. I have always been passionate about animals as I grew up on a rural croft and was fortunate enough to have gathered a wealth of generational knowledge of farm life from my family. Animal welfare is very important to me, as they have been a part of my life since I was a small child. Taking care and interacting with animals brings me great joy and I am always keen to learn new skills which allow me to provide excellent animal care. I am dedicated to working within a team of like-minded individuals who share the same passions as I do. I have learned to be resourceful in many situations as my experience of rural farm life had it's limitations in regards to accessibility of equipment and skilled professionals. I am an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is prepared to go the extra mile for families and their pets.
I have an arrange of National 5 and higher qualifications which can be supplied upon request. I have also recently completed a recognised course through GUL-Outdoor Therapy focusing on becoming an equine therapy assistant.
I have regularly kept up to date with my SCQF Level 6 in emergency first aid. Most recently dated 24/03/25.
