I am a second-year LLB (Hons) Scots Law student at the University of Glasgow. I am highy experienced in faced paced environments through my work in retail and fast food management. I am able to navigate high stress environments, work with different teams and resolve complaints from customers. I am able to balance a full time university degree with 20 hours of work per week alongside playing for a football team. With a high level of time management and determination, I would like to apply my skills from previous roles to a legal internship that will further my career and ready me for my traineeship in the future.
I am trained in all areas of the store with my tasks including price reduction; cashiering; maintaining store cleanliness and ensuring store products are displayed neatly to attract customers; managing the fitting rooms to prevent theft; moving around equipment and displays to present stock more efficiently; recieving stock and processing it (ensuring it is ready to be put out on the shop floor) and; putting out stock in an efficient and accurate manner in time with the goals set by the management team.
Furthering on from my previous role as store worker, I was recomended and put forward for a management role. This role included completing extra tasks such as administration to record sales, product usage and other store records; receive deliveries and accurately put them away ensuring stock rotation and correct food handling procedures were adhered to; opening the store; ensuring stock was in date and ready for the working day; managing the instore operations and adhering to instore protocols; manage other team members and drive store efficiency goals; counting inventory at the end of the night for closing; taking deliveries myself if extra support was needed on busy nights and; overall driving the quality of the work my team had while ensuring the customers were satisfied with the product they had bought.
I was able to meet company standards by producing high quality efficient work; ensuring the food was prepared and cooked in a timely manner for the best customer satisfaction. I was able to take telephone orders, answer customer quieries and deal with complaints. I was also able to clean the store to the correct standard during the shift and for closing the store to ensure proper hygiene procedures were being followed and the store was correctly tidied for the next business day. In particular, through training and working with others, I was able to meet the company standard of being able to make a large cheese pizza in under 1 minute and 30 seconds. I was able to meet various other goals through taking on critisism and working with my colleagues to create a positive working environment that helped the team progress and meet standards as a whole.

During my fifth year in high school, I took part in the Brodies LLP online work experience that allowed me to get an insight into a day in the life of a lawyer. I was given four tasks that included: prioritising tasks set for a day in the office; creating a mock will; drafting a written submission to the Sheriff Court for a client on an interim interdict case and; a corporate research task that included preparing research on a company using the Companies House website.
