Summary

Adaptable Sergeant with exceptional problem-solving and analytical-thinking abilities offering extensive experience, leading high-performing front-line teams. Improvement-focused, consistently seeking ways to develop staff, policies and processes.

With extensive experience in both the transportation and law enforcement sectors. With a solid background in engineering and a proven track record in leadership roles, I bring a unique blend of technical expertise, managerial skills, and a commitment to ensuring operational excellence.

As a former Train Care Production Manager at South Western Rail, I spearheaded the planning and execution of both scheduled and emergency maintenance operations for a diverse fleet of trains.

My responsibilities included overseeing a range of maintenance activities, from routine servicing to complex repairs, ensuring adherence to strict safety standards and minimising downtime. Through effective team leadership and strategic resource management of approximately 20 operatives per shift, I consistently optimised operational efficiency while maintaining the highest levels of service quality. These responsibilities also included overseeing the cleaning and housekeeping of all rolling stock within the depot by a team of approximately 15 cleaning operatives.

In my most recent role as a Sergeant within the police service, I led a dynamic team of 7 to 20 officers per shift, guiding them in maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and resolving critical incidents. Drawing upon 17 years of experience in law enforcement, I have developed strong decision-making abilities, crisis management skills, and a keen understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies. My leadership style is characterised by clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and a focus on fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Driven by a passion for excellence and a dedication to serving the community, I thrive in fast-paced and challenging environments where my diverse skill set can have a meaningful impact. With a proven ability to effectively manage resources, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement, I am poised to excel in leadership roles that require a strategic mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering results.

I have policed and experienced a broad spectrum of incidents. These have ranged from routine policing incidents, to several of the major terror attacks in London, The London riots, and even a major train crash.
