Motivated and goal-oriented professional with a strong foundation in effective communication, creative problem-solving, and customer service satisfaction.
Having worked within Scotland's Railway, I have realised I enjoy the transport industry and it is a sector I never plan on leaving. Especially the confidence I have gained from being customer facing. I thrive in team environments as a committed employee who is enthusiastic about career growth and acquiring new skills.
With this position I gained authority to drive all Scotrail vehicles. I would travel all over and to every depot to carry out cleaning duties as well as biohazard cleaning and decontamination from Covid 19.
I gained so much skills and this was by far my favourite position in Scotrail. However due to cuts this sadly had to end and I was redeployed.
Listed are some of the duties.
Based in Glasgow Queen Street station my core duty was welcoming passengers on board a service and providing catering with a smile. The routes I worked and enjoyed all of them was;
- Oban and Fort William (West Highland Line)
- Inverness
- Aberdeen
- Perth
- Edinburgh
Throughout my shifts as a steward I would use a ramp within stations that weighs 15kg in order to get the catering trolley on board. I then made my way through the train providing food and beverages as well as cash handling. I enjoyed this position as everyday was different. However due to Covid 19, I was redeployed.
This position ended as I was under an agency called Adecco. Abellio did not have space for external applicants.
