Bioenergy Crops Available in Northern Region of India
Survey on crops grown in 4 north indian states (Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh) of India which can be utilized for bioenergy production. After visiting and surveying head agriculture depot of these states, we found out that Sugarcane, Sorghum, and Zatropha are the major bioenergy crops which are being cultivated in these these areas. Noticeably, Zatropha yield is very less in Rajasthan and Haryana compared to the other regions due to its hight water requirement and water shortage in these states.
