Working as a waiter at my schools Toastmasters event entailed doing many tasks, including main tasks such as delivering food to speakers in an orderly efficient manner, whilst also receiving and retaining instructions from kitchen staff on allergies. The role also included side duties such as refilling glasses and condiments, as well as fielding requests from guests, which helped contribute to a streamlined event. This was valuable experience as it helped with being able to take initiative in a team environment in a professional manner whilst also being able to accurately follow instructions. On top of this, I also gained the understanding of being able to put the needs of the collective over personal gain.
Assistant coach
Drummonds tennis club
Wanstead, Redbridge
06.2015 - 08.2016
As an assistant coach, I helped to coordinate tennis lessons with younger players as well as instructing players on technique through offering constructive feedback. I also assessed the skill level of players whilst also identifying potential areas of improvement to help, which resulted in fielding stronger teams for tournament play. This helped me to improve my analytical skills and understand my role in a team, as well as giving me experience in team management.
