I am an ambitious and enthusiastic MSci Psychology graduate from the University of York, with a strong passion for neuroscience and research. Specializing in neuroscience during the final years of my degree, I gained hands-on experience in neuroanatomy, neuroimaging, and conducting a complex dissertation project, which involved recruiting, training, and scanning 18 participants. I am naturally curious, highly conscientious, and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Eager to pursue a career in neuroimaging research, I am excited to gain further experience and guidance.
During my time working in retail, I worked primarily on checkouts, whilst also helping out in other areas. Interacting with the public significantly improved my confidence and conversation skills, while also fostering my ability to solve problems independently, often in fast-paced scenarios during the busy summer months. Taking initiative, I was trained in several departments, including the customer service desk, as well as running the checkouts. As solitary roles, these positions allowed me to experience a more diverse range of problems within the store, using my knowledge to meet the customers’ needs, as well as resolving crises as they arose. I took pride in always serving customers with a smile, patience, and respect, whilst adjusting my actions to suit individual needs.
