I am a committed Midwife empowering informed decision-making for positive births. I am responsive and proactive under pressure ensuring to provide holistic - evidence based care to patient, prioritising safe care through continuous personal development and upskilling. It is my dream to live and work as a Midwife as I strive for a better work life balance.
After gaining promotion to band 6, I chose to remain a rotational midwife working 3 long shifts (34.5 hours) per week across the unit to further consolidate my knowledge and skills of midwifery care. This allowed my to continue to develop skills in all aspects of midwifery whilst continuing to work alongside to multi-disciplinary team.
Once qualified, I returned to the trust I trained at during my university degree. Over the year I completed a detailed preceptorship program to ensure I was competent of the skills required as a midwife. During this time I rotated through the unit working long shifts on the antenatal, labour and postnatal wards. During this time I worked 37.5 hours per week.
I worked in the kitchen to help prepare food for large events such as weddings and large parties, communicating with the chefs to effectively plan service and meals to ensure overall satisfaction with food and service. I set up dining areas for special events improving the environment and ambience. I built communication skills and ensured great customer experience by promptly addressing queries and complaints in a calm and timely manner. I also worked as a waitress on occasion managing service, ensuring dining deadlines were met.
