Work history

Midwife

Homerton Hospital
Hackney, London
10.2016 - Current

Being a student midwife at the renowned St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester, and working as a qualified midwife in at Homerton Hospital, both large busy tertiary unit (level 3). I have gained experience in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care in both inpatient and community settings. I also have experience in doing home births for women who are both in the low risk and high risk category.

This experience has given me a strong foundation and a vast array of experiences, which has readied me to practice in all areas of midwifery with an agency.

Moreover, I have acquired good interpersonal skills through my varied experiences (listening, empathising and reflecting back), which have enabled me to engage and develop rapport with women and families with whom I have worked. I feel at ease conversing with all levels of health care professionals in the MDT, which has enable me to foster good working relationships being a good team player. I work well as part of a team, and would benefit from developing supportive relationships with midwives and the wider team sharing knowledge and experiences. Furthermore, I have become adept at using electronic systems such as EPR, K2 etc. and would consider myself to have comprehensive IT skills. I am also competent at documenting contemporaneously, on both electronic and handwritten formats.
