I am part of a team that is responsible for managing and troubleshooting networking infrastructure deployments across several data centres, as well as storage and compute units.
As part of the service desk, my responsibilites included, but were not limited to:
-Managing escalations from 1st line team
-Troubleshooting various infrastructure issues (vSphere, Citrix, Windows, Mimecast, Printers, Azure)
-Maintaining a working professional relationship with various Customers
-Ensuring all work adheres to strict SLA timings
-Attend meetings with architecture team to troubleshoot ongoing issues
As a 1st line engineer, some of my responsibilites included:
-Being the first point of contact for all Customer queries via phone or e-mail
-Provide initial triage to troubleshoot tickets and escalate further if necessary
-Ensuring SLA is adhered to
-Work with tools such as Microsoft AD, Citrix, Azure, Mimecast, vSphere
