Gained senior Fibre role in April 2024 within Network department, broadening fibre knowledge base.
Shifted focus to in-house ERS activities, effectively cutting partner-related costs.
Handled blowing and splicing for 12f and 24f cables, maintaining quality also splicing and testing of legacy fibre connections, addressing all joint types up to 288f

• Execute daily tasks as Network Engineer, including management of network referrals, ingress, power, business operations, headend activities, core network issues, fiber connectivity, and telco faults.

• Installing and servicing virgin media products and services. Telephone, broadband and TV.
• Spent a week covering AFC Duty's.
• Spent just over 2 weeks with Network Department doing network referrals, changing wet taps, changing 540 and 860 ends, Adjusting levels at amplimers to bring then back into the speciation’s, Fault Finding on the telephony network Locating wet joints and login into the card at the MUX, And spent time in the local hub sites cleaning fibres, Also did noise busting using path track and putty login into the UBR. looking at the new MSAN in Carlisle with the on call engineer for a fault.
• Reading maps and understanding what the different icons mean for faults.
• Using TDR and OTDR to And breaks our damages on lengths of cable.
• During November 2018 I was chosen to do network optimisation for 4 weeks, this included day to day tasks like changing old taps in the Sunderland Cab areas also changing 540 and 715 connectors.
• In February 2019 I got the chance to do network optimisation once again for another month.
• I also from time to time give up my RDO to do ride outs with the network team to get a better in depth understanding of the networking side of virgin, And what they do on a day to day basis.

• Installing, Filling and servicing vending machines in different site across the north east, Changing circuit boards, motors, coin mechanisms and changing and testing batteries.
