I loved my time in banking in Australia, especially the face to face interactions with customers and the ability to make a positive difference to people. On returning to the U.K. banking here was quickly becoming deskilled and taken from local communities into remote call centres. At this point I reviewed my goals and decided to retrain as a nurse.
I also loved my nursing jobs and again felt I was able to have a positive input when caring for patients and their families.
I have also worked face to face with customers in the family business but at the end of 2025 handed this over to other family members.
I would now love to use my interpersonal skills in a new customer facing role and believe that I could be an asset to the David Lloyd team.
On arriving in Perth I took a part time position within the building society and within 12 months was put on a managerial training course.
I progressed quickly from assistant manager to branch manager and my last position before returning to the U.K. was a prestige city centre branch. I put my success down to building a great harmonious team and we worked together to achieve and exceed our targets. Due to my attention to detail I was trusted with the highest mortgage approval authority of all the branch managers the company.
