At this company my main duties involved carrying our refresh on all Tesco sites around the UK, This included renovating Toilet facilities, paining walls on the shop floor and installing fire doors. I have left this company as it is not something liked doing and the hours were very long. I will not be pursuing employment in construction again as Body shops are the place of work for me
At this company I was responsible for carrying out first and last prep duties. Priming my own cars in the spray booth. Once the cars were prepped and all the quality checks made I was responsible for cleaning the vehicle and masking and bagging it in the paint booth. Once cars were painted I had to demask them and take it to the polishing bay where I had to polish the vehicle, clean any glue left from tape, remove overspray's, removing dirt from freshly painted panels. Once the car got polished I had to do a quality check to make sure that the repairs were made within the correct requirements the company has set as every vehicle I have repaired has been given a 5 years guarantee so quality was very important.
My main duties involved carrying out first prep, priming the vehicle and then underdoing the final prep ready for the maskers to take over. In this company the repair panels were usually very big and involved a lot of blocking to make sure that the correct quality was met. On occasion when there was less work then I was sent to the paint booths in order to help the painters in bagging and cleaning the cars ready to paint.
In this company I had to carry out first and final prep duties, while learning how to apply primer in the primer booth, I have also been taught how to mask the cars ready for the painting stage. Unfortunately this company has went through staff redundancies and I was one of a few employees that had to go.
In this company I have joined as a Trainee paint prep technician to learn the art vehicle body repair. I was responsible for picking up cars from the panel beaters and to carry on with further repairs to make the cars ready for the masking stage. This included sanding scratches, blend panels, filling chips and minor filler work. I have enjoyed working at this company but was forced to leave as they did not want to put me on a normal salary although I have been the main prepper on the shop floor.
