  • During my 18 months at the pub, I developed a range of personal skills such as good-time keeping, reliability and teamwork
  • I worked evening and weekend shifts 2/3 times a week,
  • As well as pot washing, I also prepared food, joined in social events and collected glasses.
  • I also built good personal relationships with staff and customers of different ages.

  • During my week, I built strong relationships with staff and students at the school.
  • I worked with individual children and small groups supporting them with maths and written work.
  • At lunchtime, I volunteered to support a group of special needs children who were unable to access the playground independently
  • I really enjoyed spending time with these children, helping their confidence and self-esteem.
  • A highlight of my experience was organising and running the key stage one sports day
  • This gave me an opportunity to show my organisational skills and my ability to work with a range of ages and abilities.

  • Whilst there, I was given the task to document different clients invoices and bank statements.
  • I found the week gave me a good understanding of a working environment and day-to-day activities.

  • During my volunteering I helped the leaders with games and activities for the children aged 5-11.
  • I helped supervise external events such as fishing and litter picking around my local village.
  • A special highlight was when a cub gave me a box of chocolates at Christmas for helping them.
