Driven and detail-oriented recent school leaver with hands-on financial experience from part-time work and a strong interest in audit. As captain of my sixth form football team and a golfer with a 5 handicap, I bring leadership, focus, and discipline. During my gap year, I’m completing a finance internship, volunteering in Sri Lanka to teach English speaking, and studying with the University of Cambridge towards two finance certifications. I’m eager to apply my skills and commitment to learning in a degree apprenticeship within a dynamic audit team.
Being a sales assistant at Lyle & Scott has taught me how a large organisation is managed and run which has been a huge jump from my previous role. I enjoy speaking to my manager about how psychology plays a big role in customer retention. From starting in August I have recently been promoted to Keyholder giving me responsibility and a voice within the company.
In this job, I was able to improve my customer service skills along with the ability to communicate with customers. Golf is a big passion of mine and my family and to be able to have had a part time job in this industry was a true privilege and enjoyment. My teaching skills progressed as well as I was able to assist our Head Professional in coaching young juniors.
During my time in year 13, I had the opportunity to speak and work closely to the universal bank NatWest Group. The Leveraged Finance team was a particular interest to me as I enjoyed the way these financiers used debt to their advantage whilst keeping risk relatively low.
