During my time working as a dental nurse, I have gained various new skills and experiences. My day to day role entails supporting dental professionals during procedures, ranging from routine cleanings to more advanced treatments like fillings and implants. As a dental nurse we have a very high standard of cleaning and organising. I maintain a clean and sanitary environment for each patient and ensure I am always prepared for any last minute changes. I take pride in comforting all anxious patients who enter the surgery which leads to positive clinical experiences. I also help my team with reception duties when needed, I manage appointment bookings, take payments and resolve patient queries with professionalism and patience. I manage patient health records ensuring confidentiality at all times and I follow up on insurance claims accurately to support financial operations. I take pride in delivering high-quality care and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients as a dedicated dental nurse.

As a care assistant, I would take care of dementia patients, assisting in everyday tasks - eating, drinking and personal care. I worked alongside nurses learning about drugs and equipment used to help take care of our residents. I would handle challenging behaviour from dementia-affected residents effectively. I gained qualifications in first aid which helped me respond promptly to emergency situations ensuring the safety of all residents and I always respected the privacy and dignity of each resident during provision of care services.
