Summary

Compassionate, quick-thinking, and resilient Emergency Department Nurse with 4 years of experience. Confident in managing high-pressure situations and delivering exceptional patient care. Skilled in triaging emergencies, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and improving patient outcomes through quick decision-making and advanced clinical skills. Known for enhancing patient satisfaction by providing clear communication and empathetic support. Skilled at managing acute clinical situations with precision and empathy aswell as being calm under pressure.

Whilst working in Emergency Department I have had an opportunity to work in a fast pace environment. This gave me ability to establish priorities if it comes to acuity of patients, escalations of my concerns, or prioritising medications for septic patients in a timely manner. Following priorities I have learnt how to make the decisions and solve the problems. I have worked as a first contract using multiple pathways like Sepsis pathway, ensuring treatment was given within golden hour and that pt has been seen by the doctor. Other pathways including Acute Kindney Injury, Stroke, Neck of Femur, Chest pain pathways helped me to make sure appropriate treatment and investigations were provided to patients. Working in such a big team gave me an ability to work as a team with multi disciplinary team as various specialities were supporting patients in ED. Working with such many specialities in busy environment sometimes includes that I had to use my assertiveness and challenge people to assure patients are treated in a acuity and timely manner. I have often been co-ordinating several areas such as minor and major injury, emergency room and RAT ( rapid assessment triage ) by this experience I have learnt how to delegate tasks which includes leadership skills, and communication, prioritise workload and acuity of patients as well as medications. Co-ordinating areas that me how to solve many problems if it comes to space in emergency department as well as problems with patients conditions high scores and how to fix it. I feel like I am good at problem solving and I have been told that I have common sense. I am a hard working nurse who always gives my best and I always have the patients at the heart of what I do. I am flexible and reliable and feel I am a team player who gets along with the MDT. Whilst working in surgery I learned the care involved both pre and post surgery. This involved assessment of pre surgical conditions including pain management, treatments such as antibiotics and other nursing interventions such as wound care, Stoma care, catheter care aswell as the esaclation of deteriorating patients. I further expanded my knowledge on several specialities including Surgical, ENT, Gynae and at times medical patients. I was involved in the importance of patient flow and the importance of appropriate patient transfers.

Furthermore I am a placement educator and practice assessor for student nurses who come to placements in the trust.

I have worked with and educated student nurses or new starters who have been on placement within these areas. I have recieved universal positive feedback on my approaches and attitude towards teaching and feel confident in implementing my job to teaching.
