  • Participated in fun activities with them in order to increase their interest in the subjects. For example, showing them the "Stroop test" which is a psychological experiment where you are required to say the colour of the word and not what the word actually says. This was an amusing experience as students often found themselves stating what the word says instead. This also built my social skills as a result.
  • Furthermore, I had to work with fellow students in my year group to effectively advertise these A-level subjects, showing that I can work well in a team.

  • Took turns reading with them in a group and encouraged them to carry on if they found a word difficult.

  • I found this to be a very wholesome experience as I had the opportunity to help these children improve their reading and I also gained more communication skills as a result.

  • Warmly greeted customers and conversed with them, thus building a rapport. This helped to enhance my communication skills.
