  • In the last 2 years I have worked in tier 2 role in a tertiary neonatal unit in Singleton Hospital, during which I have stabilised neonates of all gestation from 22 week onwards following NLS guidelines.
  • I have had the opportunity to manage acute cases like HIE providing therapeutic cooling, managing ventilation needs of neonates with RDS, MAS, PPHN including HFOV and performing needle thoracocentesis and chest drain insertion for babies with tension pneumothorax. I am also proficient in cannulation and longline insertion, performing lumbar puncture in neonates of all gestation and weight.
  • I have maintained strict compliance with health and safety regulations at the workplace. I have designed and led a Gloves off quality improvement project.
  • I have also been a part of randomisation and data collection for 3 ongoing national research projects - SURFsup trial, Neogastric trial, FEED1 trial.
  • I have participated and conducted teaching in various settings like journal club, MDT teaching and bedside teaching for medical students.

I have also learnt and conducted different procedural skills like ascitic tap, pleural tap, lumbar puncture, liver biopsy, bone marrow aspiration and biopsy while rotation through various paediatric specialities.
  • Worked under guidance of paediatric specialists in haemato-oncology, gastro-enterology, neurology and nephrology.
  • Neonatology: 9 month posting in a 22 bedded tertiary NICU, managing neonatal emergencies, stabilisation of neonate at birth, ventilating sick preterm babies of 28 weeks gestation onwards. I learnt necessary skills of airway management including intubation, surfactant administration, umbilical and longline insertion.
  • Covid duties: I was redeployed and worked in the Adult Covid wards for 3 months between May and July 2020 at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Aurangabad, Maharashtra during the first phase of the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • I won 2nd prize for a national presentation on Dravet Syndrome in 2018.
  • I have also presented my research on Nutritional assessment tools in a DGH in rural India, in a national conference in India (2019).
  • I have presented my QI project in a national QI skill conference in Cardiff in 2024.
