Myles Whitehead

Due to my previous experience as team leader and my desire to progress, I became Assistant Manager of Ultra Flex York. This role required me to:

• Monitor sales performance regularly. Analysis of sales dictated many of the approaches I took in order to maximise the sale of products and memberships.
• Regular stock takes and ordering of products. Accurate use of software ensured monthly reports were correct. I gained an understanding of popular products and products that needed to be pushed further to ensure maximum growth.
• I performed equipment maintenance checks on a regular basis to provide a high standard of safety for members.
• Direct communication with my manager to make sure targets and expectations are met.
• Assisted in recruitment process to build an effective workforce. Training of new staff was required once the recruitment process was complete.
• Delegated tasks to team members efficiently improving overall productivity.
• Communicated directly with staff upon conflicts. Learning to mitigate issues and address staff issues effectively was key to maintaining staff moral and productivity.

I started working out at Ultra Flex York and was offered the chance to work there. Here I was able to apply many attributes that I gained while working my previous job. This role required me to:

• Maintain a high standard of hygiene within the gym to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Applied my ability to build foundations with previous clients to build a great rapport with members. Understanding the importance of this increase member experience, retention and my ability to upsell products. This benefited both member and the company.
• Understand the importance of branding and the image of a company. A combination of all the factors of my role projected an image and reputation of the company, in turn has a direct influence on the financial success.

This job required me to perform chemical cleaning of sites with Covid-19 present. This was performed using highly intoxicating chemicals (ionised hydrogen peroxide). My role required me to lead a team to complete such tasks. Aspects of this role were as followed:

• Leading my team to eradicate covid 19 on the site provided. This would involve effective, precise planning, coordination and efficient action to ensure the job was fully complete within a tight timeframe to ensure the business could fully operate on the same trading day.
• Obtaining knowledge and understanding of harmful chemicals and PPE to ensure the safety of myself, the team and the client. Sites often had multiple 100s of people present at any given time.
• Direct communication with the client. I would be a direct representation of the company, therefore building a foundation and a great reputation with the client was of importance.
• Provided direct training with staff.

• Helped a team baristas maintain health & safety and cleanliness across the store.
• Interacted with customers to obtain invaluable feedback.
• Required to maintain high level of customer service and interaction.
• Was required to understand and help company achieve goals.
• Operated tills efficiently during busy periods.
